We had much nicer weather than the last time we tried to do this walk. Bright sun with a few clouds which did seem to get darker during the morning. Excellent lunch in The Three Horseshoes in Thursley whilst we watched the rain starting to fall outside. Undaunted we set off for the final short leg back to our cars, dashing for cover as some showers were heavier than others.
John, Barbara and Mary took us from a layby on the A272 up to Fyning Common and Rondle Wood before descending past Cumbers Farm and to St Peter's Church in Terwick. It was an excellent walk, helped by ideal weather conditions which had dried all the mud from the previous week and encouraged many plants to flower. Lunch in the Elsted Inn was very welcome. The walk was about 4.1/2 miles
Marian, Linda and June led a small party of walkers from the car park in West Dean Gardens. Then through West Dean and up into the clouds of Goodwood before dropping down for lunch at The Partridge in Singleton. After lunch it was through the Drovers Estate, some parts being a little muddy but it remained dry overhead all day, with some sun in the afternoon. Many thanks to Marian and Isabel for the photos.
Mary's walk was a wet and windy walk around Liss. In spite of the conditions, including a few muddy tracks, everyone survived the journey and enjoyed a dry (weatherwise!) visit to the Drovers Arms in Hill Brow.
