We have a walk from Greatham of about 5 miles, parking in the layby next to Greatham Church SU773 303 51Deg 4.03' N , 0 Deg 53.86'W. If you arrive early, have a look in the ruins opposite to see the last resting place of Dame Margery Caryll - "a vertuous ladie" who died in 1632, aged 40, possibly after pricking her finger whilst sewing. There are no serious hills, several stiles and plenty of blackberries at the coffee stop. As a bonus later on, there is also a large cherry plum tree laden with edible fruit. Lunch in the Hawkley Arms.
