Viewing events from April, 2019
Isobels walk will be at Kingley Vale on the 24th April (not at Arundel). It is a good walk with wonderful views. We need to park at the Kingley Vale car park and there is one fairly long steady climb fairly near the beginning of the walk. Lunch is at the Fox and Hounds at Funtington and the walk back to the car is flat and through a pig farm and the bluebells - if there are any left!!
Liz's walk on the 17th April is around the Tillington and Upperton area. As parking is limited at the start, we propose for all to meet at Midhurst car park as usual for car share and directions. Lunch is at the Hollist Arms and the menu will be sent to all for pre ordering. About 4 miles easy going through vineyards with far reaching views, and woodland hopefully with bluebells? Dry on the pre walk but could be muddy in places on the day if we have a lot of rain, only a couple of stiles, and horses in the field we cross and some minor road walking.
Pete's walk will start from Sheepwash Lane in Lavant (SU860 084) parking next to the georgeous River Lavant. The first part of the walk will be a pleasant stroll alongside the chalk fed river then climb up to the Iron Age fort on the top of the Trundle which will give 360 degrees of fantastic views. Catch our breath and then downhill to our lunch break at The Dean in West Dean next to the A286 where we should arrive at about 12.30/1.00pm and after lunch we will return to the car parking via the disused Chichester to Midhurst railway track bed cycle and walk way. The walk distance will be about 7.3 miles. Contact Pete on 07769661120 if needed.
Jeff will be leading a walk around Bosham. For those going directly to Bosham, please meet in the Municipal Car Park PO18 8HS, which can be accessed towards the end of Bosham Lane (for the really foolhardy, go to the very end of Bosham Lane and park on the foreshore.....). After a walk of about 5 miles to Fishbourne and back, lunch will be in The Anchor Bleu in Bosham.
